“When I was at the age of 9yrs old, I remember writing my own play at school. Ever since then, acting and performing has always been an interest. I guess it is an avenue to escape into the world of imagination, and a chance to delve into my own creativeness. Here are some highlights of my acting endeavours in musical theatre” – Everisingsun
Hot Mikado is the modern ‘Jazzed’ up version of the Opera Classic ‘The Mikado’.
Although the story line is virtually unchanged, it has been updated with more exciting Jazz numbers. The musical is also incorporated with comical satire throughout the show to give it a totally new perception of the classic tale. This was my first Musical and was fortunate to be chosen as ‘The Mikado’. It was an enlightening experience for me to act on stage in front of a live audience. I knew then that I wanted to do more….
Disco Inferno is a 70’s based musical written by Jai Sepple.
Working late in a London nightclub, Disco Inferno, Jack encounters Lady Marmalade – a femme fatale and partner of the Devil. Fantasizing in his dreams of becoming a famous rock star, he makes a pact with her, trading his soul to meet his wildest dreams. Jack quickly becomes a worldwide success, emerging on radio and television. However, he finds his success has fallen short and loses the hand of his sweetheart Jane as the consequence of fame and fortune.
I played the role of Duke, the nightclub owner who was actually the Devil in disguise. I enjoyed this musical, and sang two solo songs – ‘Crocodile Rock’ by Elton John, and ‘Fire’ by Arthur Brown
Miss Saigon is said to be one of the great Classics of Musical Theatre, so I was thrilled to be given the role of ‘The Engineer’, one of the lead roles that had such an impact in the story of an american GI during the Vietnam War who fell deeply in love with an innocent Vietnamese girl that was coerced to work for The Engineer, a sleazy brothel owner trying to scheme his way into America before the Viet-Cong takeover.
“Over time I will continue to pursue my journey in musical theatre and hopefully I can get the opportunity to perform in more amazing musical classics”
